The gel is the circuit, not an upsell

The running cost of conductive activator gel reads like accessory margin, and it is worth understanding why it is not optional. Microcurrent needs a continuous conductive path between the two spheres and the skin; dry skin is a poor conductor, so without gel the current either does not flow properly or concentrates unpleasantly. That is also why the gel drying mid-session, which the drawbacks above flag, is a real limitation rather than a nuisance: a dried patch is a broken circuit. Budget for it as consumable running cost in the same way you would blades or filters, because the device does not work as intended without it.

Neither figure is a performance guarantee, and a higher current is not automatically better, since comfort and the device auto-adjusting to your skin matter more in practice. The number worth weighing is the time one: the three frequencies and the five-minute guided routines only produce the advertised look while the schedule continues, which the drawbacks state plainly.
