Where a blemish mode sits with the regulator

This is the only mask of the three with a blue channel, and blue-light modes are where the advertising rules bite hardest. On 5 November 2025 the Advertising Standards Authority upheld a complaint against a different brand whose blue-light mask was advertised for treating diagnosed skin conditions. The ASA treated those as medicinal claims, noted that "a medical device should be registered with the MHRA before it was placed on the market in Great Britain", and said it had "seen no evidence that the product was registered with the MHRA or had the appropriate conformity marking". The line the regulator drew is about the claim being made, not the wavelength being emitted: a cosmetic appearance claim and a treatment claim are governed differently even when the hardware is identical.

What the cooling is actually doing

InstaChill is worth separating from the light entirely. Per the specification above, the Under-Eye Revive setting is a cooling programme, and no LEDs point at the under-eye zone at all, which is also flagged in the drawbacks. Cooling reduces the appearance of puffiness the way any cold compress does, by constricting surface blood vessels, and that is a temporary physical effect rather than a light-therapy one. Reviewers report it as the most immediately visible thing the device does, which is worth knowing precisely because it is the part that owes nothing to the 480 lights.
